lunch/dinner

Here are my favorite places to eat in Chicago and what I get there!!

Five and Dime Evanston

I never really eat out in Evanston and was so happy to stumble upon this place!! It was such a cute restaurant with a huge rooftop patio with tons of seating. The decor was very modern and cozy, and service was amazing!! I have been twice and loved it both times.

What I got:

  • Guac and chips
    • pretty mediocre but good
  • Pretzel
    • this was amazing, huge soft pretzel, I highly recommend
  • Ginger salad
    • also really good, huge portion, dressing was really good. Only thing I didn’t love was that the tofu was basically raw, they didn’t really season or bake it at all
Ginger salad, pretzel and ribs in background
  • Sweet BBQ ribs (Caleb got this)
    • he said it was really good!

Also, they have a vegan sloppy Joe that I didn’t get but want to next time I go!!

Next of Kin (also Evanston)

So I didn’t actually get any food when I went here, but they did have amazing drinks. I got their house margarita, and did bottomless mimosas! They were surprisingly cheap, and the service was awesome. They definitely don’t have any vegan options, but their food did look pretty good. Also, the decor and atmosphere was so fun, I honestly just loved sitting in there!!
